Grebb And Friends

For context: My highschool vice-principal(Mr. Grebb) had a segment on the school video announcements where he make jokes and talk about various topics. The segments (titled “Grebb and Friends”) were very funny when you watched them ironically. As one of the students producing the announcements, I decided to spice up the intro, and later, create a school wide hunt for miniature figurines of Mr. Grebb.
This page is comprised of two projects: the intro for Grebb and Friends, and a commercial for the Grebby’s.
I took the logo into Adobe Premiere Pro, where I would apply various effects to make it appear like the logo was appearing on an old solid state television. The goal was to make it look old.
The Intro
To start, I created a logo for Grebb and Friends, obviously my riffing off of MTV - just with a ‘G’ instead of an ‘M’. Their wacky intros and transitions are what inspired me to make this project.
Using this model, the GrebbTV intro from above, some free to use 3D assets, and a few music clips, I created an extremely weird and bizarre intro for Grebb and Friends. It was a hit around school.
I had Mr. Grebb sit down on a stool, and using an phone app called “Polycam,” I scanned him and created a 3D model of him on the stool
The Grebbies
It was near the end of the year when I had the idea for a schoolwide treasure hunt. I would use the 3D printer at the public library to create 4 inch tall figurines of Mr. Grebb on the stool, and would spray paint them gold. I called them the ‘Grebbys,’ a riff on the TV award ‘Emmys.’ I created a humorous 1 minute skit, and it was aired on the school announcements the following Friday.
I hid the Grebbys in various spots around school, challenging viewers to find them. It was a massive success!
Students created search parties dedicated to finding Grebbys, and in the end, all of them were found except for one. Get to searching!
