The Temple

Scroll

Using a procedural ‘cracked brick’ texture I found online, I modeled the interior of the temple and it’s pillars.

Adding vines and grass to the floor and pillars was relatively easy, as the main focus was the tree in the center.

The Temple was the beginning of my experiments with lighting, and how light can change an image.

It marked the first project that I experimented with volumetric lighting, and making lights seem more realistic.

After rendering in Blender, I took the image into photoshop for a touch-up on the shadows, and to pop out the light spots even more.

Overall, I think this was a great way for me to learn the value of good lighting, and it’s something I’ve used in every project since.
